Zinedine Bouguerra, a student with French and Algerian roots, was surprised to discover that China was celebrating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations on a grand scale during his exchange at Peking University. Through firsthand observation he recognizes the importance of cross-cultural understanding and how it could contribute to global sustainable development, climate governance, and multilateral cooperation.
