Abstract:
In this talk, I shall report about a recent paper in collaboration with N. Papageorgiou and A. Pudelko (Math. Annalen, 2022).This talk is concerned with the qualitative analysis of solutions for a nonlinear elliptic Dirichlet equation driven by a double phase operator and a Carathéodory (p-1)-linear reaction. I first develop a detailed spectral analysis of the double phase operator. Next, I shall apply the results of this analysis to prove existence and multiplicity properties for problems in which there is resonance asymptotically at infinity. Several perspectives are developed in the final part of this talk.
Biography:
Vicentiu Radulescu is a professor at the University of Craiova (Romania) and at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland. He is also a Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest. He received both his PhD and his Habilitation at the Sorbonne University in Paris under the coordination of Professor Haim Brezis. Vicentiu Radulescu 's main research areas lie at the interplay between nonlinear analysis, mathematical physics, and variational calculus. He is especially interested in the qualitative analysis of various degenerate or singular phenomena described by nonlinear partial differential equations. Professor Radulescu is a Highly Cited Researcher (2014, 2019, 2020, 2021) and he published more than 400 papers and 10 books. He is the editor of several important journals and he is the co-editor-in chief and the founder of the journal Advances in Nonlinear Analysis.
