Abstract:
Based on more than a dozen years of learningand communication with folk masters oftraditional Taiiquan, I will show or rediscover aquite different picture of Taiiquan, which hasbeen affected, ignored and misunderstood, or would like to say, distorted by modern science and Western sports to such a degreeand for many years. Traditional Taijiquan infact pays more attention to harmonious and integrated personal/practical feelingsoyourself and relations with others/environmentand not only almost has no so called objective and unified rules or standards, but these rules often conflict with or even deny each other. However, with“sympathetic comprehension”maybe because of this, the traditional Taijiquan could provide an alternative paradiam and various choices to see the world, to recognize yourself and understand the competition withothers again, which are completely differentfrom Western science and sports. and couldalso shed enlightenment on the latter.
