Abstract:
Macrophages mediate inflammatory responses and the development of multiple inflammatory diseases, including autoimmune diseases, infection, and cancer. Different cholesterol metabolites are vital to differentially manipulate macrophage function. We are interested to identify which key cholesterol metabolites or enzymes could affect macro-phage polarization, inflammation or immune surveillance against infection or tumor. In addition, we recently identified the function of meningeal lymphatic vessel (MLV) in the brain to transfer virus from the CNS to the peripheral, which might open a new angle to understand the pathology of various CNS diseases.
