Abstract:
How to make sense of this uncertain world? How to find yourself in a world full of uncertainty? Emma Sky is the director of Yale University's Internatonal Leadership Center, where she directs several flagship programs, including Yale World Fellow and Climate Fellow. She also teaches the most popular "Grand Strategy" course at Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. As a pacifist, Emma went to the front line during the Iraq War, from a volunteer to the head of the Kirkuk area in Iraq, and later became a political adviser to the high commander of the United States in Iraq, and her advice had an important impact on the policy of the US-UK troops in Iraq and the local situation. Lost Iraq, Emma's long-form memoir based on her own experience, combines the details of her personal experience with a grand historical context to show the complexity, diversity, and evolution of Iraqi society and the U.S. military, providing a unique perspective on the Middle East and the world order.
In this event, Emma will start from her own growth experience, share how to make life choices, how to be yourself, and start a dialogue around climate change, global leadership, international cooperation and other topics.
