Abstract:
For over 25 years, the DAMA/LIBRA experiment has claimed evidence of dark matter through an annual modulation signal, though no other experiments have confirmed this result.
To address this, the COSINE-100 collaboration conducted a model-independent test using 106 kg of sodium iodide, the same target material as DAMA/LIBRA, over 6.4 years. With improved energy calibration and background modeling, our analysis found no evidence of an annual modulation, challenging DAMA/LIBRA's claim at a confidence level greater than 3o. Additionally, we explored new physics scenarios and set constraints on WIMP-nucleus interactions. The seminar will also cover the status of detector upgrade to COSINE-100U and plans for COSINE-200.
