Abstract:
Understanding diseases at the single-cell level is essential to reveal mechanisms underlying complex pathologies and to develop precise therapies. My lab integrates advanced 3D tissue clearing techniques with deep learning to visualize entire mouse bodies and large human tissue samples down to individual cells. This unbiased approach generates comprehensive cellular maps, enabling us to characterize pathological changes across diverse diseases, including neurodegeneration, cancer, diabetes, metabolism disorders, viral infections, and environmentally-induced conditions. By combining high-resolution 3D imaging data with spatial proteomics, we systematically uncover disease-specific molecular signatures and therapeutic responses with unprecedented detail. Furthermore, we leverage these insights to develop novel Al-designed therapeutics, including peptides and engineered molecules, delivered with cell-level precision. Our Al-driven approaches bridge fundamental biological insights with the development of highly targeted, cell-specific therapeutics, addressing diseases ranging from Alzheimer's and cancer to metabolic and environmentally-induced conditions.
