Abstract:
Peng Kangliang is a bass and currently a professor at Central Conservatory of Music. He has had many outstanding achievements in a storied career that spans more than 50 years. Early in his career, he had opportunities to learn from musical greats such as Luo Rongju at Central Conservatory of Music. During his study in Japan, he cooperated with many worldly renowned conductors, directors, and vocalists, and performed, including performing lead, in more than 40 Western classics such as the Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, etc. He came back to China in 2002 and became a professor at his alma mater. Since then, he has performed in many original operas. In 2025, he debuted his first album,
Bramhs Lieder, in vinyl and CD, winning widespread praise from classical music enthusiasts for its exquisite artistry and production quality.
Zhang Guilin is currently a professor at Central Conservatory of Music. He has provided piano accompaniment to many worldly renowned singers, having traveled all over Asia-Pacific. Many of his recordings in cooperation with famous singers have been released by marquee record labels such as Decca, CRC, etc. He is now in a three-person musical ensemble called DNA Trio, together with cellist Song Zhao and violinist Zhang Jing. This group has performed all over China since its forming in 2005 and has released 7 albums, including works by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, and Tchaikovsky.
