Abstract: 

Michael Martin Kofler
Born in 1966 in Villach, Michael completed his flute studies with distinction at the Vienna Musikhochschule with Werner Tripp and Wolfgang Schulz, and with Peter-Lukas Graf at the Musikakademie in Basel. In 1987 Sergiu Celibidache appointed him principal flute with the Munich Philharmonic. Since 1983 he has given solo concerts, recitals and chamber music recitals worldwide. Since 1989, Michael has been a professor in a concert class at the Mozarteum University with great success. At several international competitions, Michael has also been awarded the culture promotion prizes of the Munich Concert Society and the state of Carinthia, as well as the honorary prize of the Austrian Ministry of Science and the culture prize of his home town of Villach.
