Abstract:
This concert is dedicated to the music of Thelonious Monk, one of the most recognizable styles in jazz history. One of the founders of bebop jazz, Monk was the second-most-recorded jazz composer in history, after Duke Ellington. He had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "'Round Midnight", "Blue Monk", etc.

Pierre Pradat is a pianist, producer, educator and founder of jazz label “Harmonious Melody”. Together with bass player Xu Guangjun and drummer Nicolas Mège, the trio will perform 14 Monk classics, exploring the complete musical range of the legendary jazz composer.
