Abstract
:

In modern political theories, the discourse of patriotism was used to support national liberation and struggles for freedom. The discourse of nationalism occurred and began to spread in the late 18th century with the aim to defend the unity on culture, language, and religion of a nation. The difference between patriotism and nationalism also appeared during the period of Italy’s fighting against fascism.
