Peking University. Beijing. May 31, 2010: On May 13rd, the awards ceremony for “The Most Influential Brand of English Educational Institutions ” was held in Beijing. It was also the startup ceremony for the 16th “21st Century Cup” national English speaking competition of college students, as well as the 9th “CASIO 21st Century Cup” national English speech contest for primary and secondary students.

Peking University Press was among “The Most Influential Brand of English Educational Institutions”. More than fifty institutions got the awards, which were divided into book publishing, educational electronic products, training and examination services, oversea study services, translation services awards and special award.
The ceremony invited many famous persons, such as Wang Ximin, Deputy Editor in Chief of China Daily, Chen Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of The State Council Information Office, Liu Xianghong, Director of the Division of Liberal Arts of Education of State Education Ministry, Qiao Yuquan, Director of Basic Education of State Education Ministry, Nie Lisheng, Chief Editor of the 21st Century of China Daily. In addition, above two hundred people, including experts in English education and representatives of those English educational institutions were present at the ceremony.
