Peking University, April 13, 2023: The 9th Nike University Elite Challenge – Marathon Road Relay Final was held at Tsinghua University on April 9, 2023. Amidst fierce competition, Peking University’s team comprising six students and four college athletes fought hard, eventually emerging as runner-up with an impressive record of 2:41:47.

The competition aims to promote the exchange of sporting cultures between universities, catalyze the running culture within campuses, and build an international cooperative platform to boost the development of long-distance running in Chinese universities. In the road relay race, the ten members of each team would each complete approximately 4.2km and accumulate a total distance of 42.195km.

Marathon teams getting ready 

Runners from eight participating universities had prepared diligently and showcased evident improvement in the collegiate marathon relay race, which was canceled for two years since 2021. Under the guidance of teachers from the Department of Physical Education, the PKU team participated in vigorous training four times a week and displayed tenacious spirit during the race.
