Peking University. Beijing. March 25th, 2009: on the afternoon of March 20th, the School of Arts, Peking University, held a lecture entitled “scientific development and self-development” in Room 413, Teaching Building No. 2 to all the CPC members, activists and undergraduate Youth League members in the School. It’s the first of a series of lectures to be given to study and practice the scientific outlook on development.
Secretary of CPC General Branch of School of Arts Zhang Xiaoli pointed out at the meeting that it’s the first political priority for the University to organize all the CPC members to further study and practice the scientific outlook on development and the Party Committee of the University had made arrangements accordingly. The leadership of the School of Arts had much valued the study and practice activities and had made out its own detailed plan to study and practice the scientific outlook on development based on thorough discussion.
Secretary Zhang also introduced the general arrangements of the School of Arts to further study and practice the scientific outlook on development. She required all the CPC members to pay much attention to the study and practice activities, to catch the precise spirit and meaning of the scientific outlook on development, to follow strictly the carry-out plan made by the University and the School, to organize all kinds of high-quality study and practice activities, to launch discussions, and to contribute to the scientific development of the University and the School. At the same time, she also encouraged the students to keep thinking and dare to practice and to apply the scientific outlook on development to their own study and work.
In the specialized lecture entitled “to catch the spirit of scientific outlook on development and to be the all-around-development elite of the time,” Doctor Song Xiujian from the School of Marxism, Peking University, explained to the audience the historical background for the emergence of the scientific outlook on development and the current political and economic situation in China. Doctor Song then discussed with students on how to understand and practice the scientific outlook on development from the viewpoint of young university students. The activity was concluded in an easy and delightful atmosphere.
