Peking University, April 23, 2025: Amid laughter and cheers echoing across campus, Peking University celebrated its annual Open Day on April 19 with great fanfare. The event drew crowds of students and parents, offering them an immersive glimpse into the wonders of China’s premier academic institution.
This Open Day featured an undergraduate recruitment roadshow; consultations with various schools, departments, and partner colleges; and tours to nearly 20 facilities on campus ranging from Peking University Library to certain national key laboratories. There were also games and activities that added to the fun in a relaxed learning environment.
Held at Khoo Teck Puat Sports Complex, the roadshow was framed around introducing PKU’s undergraduate programs, which provided a diverse and international learning platform. Feature speakers included school officials and student representatives, who introduced their own disciplines and encouraged students to pursue their passion with courage and zeal.
On the plaza in front of Khoo Teck Puat Sports Complex, rows of booths representing various schools, departments, and partner colleges attracted much foot traffic. Students and parents who sought consultations on prospective enrollment were cheered up by the amiability and professionalism of the staff and volunteers.
As visitors strolled along the banks of Weiming Lake, they were enchanted by the vernal splendor — where willow branches swayed gently as the breeze glided by and rippled the water. Touring a campus steeped in history and culture, they relished an atmosphere blending leisurely fun with academic solemnity.
From the mesmerizing particle art installations in the School of Arts to the dancing robots and the dazzling chemical reactions in science labs, the exhibitions and activities sparked waves of delight and wonder — fueling students’ curiosity and passion for discovery.
