Peking University, June 10, 2025: PKU women’s basketball team dunked their way to another championship title, beating Tsinghua University 79-66 in an electrifying showdown on June 06, clinching the CUBAL Division I throne for the second year in a row.
The match kicked into high gear right off the bat, with the two teams tied 17-17 after first quarter. But the PKU girls gradually showed their true color, pulling a 20-point lead by the third quarter and eventually bagging the championship with stellar teamwork.
Helming this meteoric run were two extraordinary women: Wu Xianglin, who scored 16 points and snagged 6 rebounds in total, winning the MVP title; and the team coach Hua Lin, who won the Best Coach award.
Coming out of an injury, this season has been especially tough for Wu. But with steely determination, she managed to close out her last CUBAL season with a bang, paving way for a graceful retirement.
Closing the night, she sent out an encouragement to the gaokao students, “I wish all of you good luck. Peking University awaits your good news.”
