Peking University, September 22, 2025: Peking University Clubs and Societies Fair was held from September 19 to 20. A total of 186 clubs, societies and associations set up stalls in front of the PKU Hall, attracting potential new members. The plaza was brimming with youthful energy, with crowds of students engaging attentively in interactive games and stamp-collection activities, showcasing keen interest and spirited participation.
This year's clubs and societies spanned a broad spectrum of themes, encompassing public service, cultural promotion, recreation, etc. Various eye-catching exhibitions drew crowds and cheers, vividly displaying the charms of talent and creativity. Nicola Ragazzi is an Italian graduate student at School of International Studies.
While strolling with friends, Nicola Ragazzi kindly accepted a brief interview with Beida News. Having visited Peking University only a few times, he expressed his hope to meet new people and make Chinese friends by joining a club.
Nicola said that he was impressed by the diversity of student clubs and societies at PKU and was pleased with the various options available. He has so far shown interest in several sports associations and is also willing to try intellectual activities such as puzzles or quizzes.
Ding Hengyu is a third-year undergraduate student at School of Earth and Space Sciences.
As the 47th president of the Youth Astronomy Society at Peking University, Ding Hengyu outlined the society's history. Founded following the 1990 launch of the Hubble Space Telescope, the society has experienced a dynamic evolution marked by both challenges and achievements.
Today, the society organizes a diverse range of activities, including regular astronomical observations on Jingyuan Lawn, popular science lectures, and member gatherings. Participants occasionally have the opportunity to observe distant galaxies under dark skies or attend academic lectures delivered by leading experts.
At the end of the interview, Ding delivered the society’s goal: sharing the wonders of astronomy with a wider audience.
Wang Qiyuan is a third-year undergraduate student at School of Economics.
Wang Qiyuan, a member of the Peking University Wine Science and Industry Association, provided a brief introduction to the association's routine activities. They frequently invite wine enterprises to present on various types of wines and organize visits to local wineries.
During the fair, the association’s stall attracted significant attention, with students forming long queues to sample different varieties of wine. Wang noted that the association boasts a substantial membership base and extended a warm welcome to all students with an interest in wine, encouraging them to join for more enriching exchanges.

Zou Tingan attended the fair accompanied by her friend Isabella Zhu. Both expressed that they had identified several clubs that resonated with their personal interests and values.
Based on her existing habits and inclinations, Zou was considering membership in either the Acappella Club or the Piano Club. Additionally, she mentioned a growing curiosity about the Career Development Club, noting its potential value in helping students prepare for their professional futures. Zhu said that she wanted to join Feng Lei Street Dance Club.
As the fair drew to a close, the atmosphere remained merry, with sounds of laughter and spirited chatter lingering in the air. The vitality of the student organization landscape at PKU underscores the university’s emphasis on a well-rounded education that focuses on academics as well as leadership and character-building.
