A Cappella Builds a Bridge of Friendship at Peking University

Peking University, March 25, 2026: On the evening of March 23, the Stanford Center at Peking University, in collaboration with the Office of International Relations, hosted the A Cappella Concert Program. The event featured Stanford O-Tone, Stanford University’s premier student a cappella choir, alongside PKU A Cappella, the student a cappella ensemble of Peking University. Special guest performances were also presented by Beijing Vocational College of Opera and Arts and the International Department of the Affiliated High School of Peking University.

The concert marked the first international performance for Stanford O-Tone. The evening was divided into two halves, featuring a total of 17 performances that included popular songs in both Mandarin and English. In addition to the musical performances, the event provided a unique opportunity for cross-cultural dialogue, with students from both universities engaging in a face-to-face conversation, sharing their personal stories and the ways they discovered their passion for music.

The concert concluded with a heartfelt collaboration as Stanford O-Tone and PKU A Cappella joined together to perform two beloved songs: The Moon Represents My Heart and Yanyuan Qing. The event served as a powerful bridge for musical exchange between the two prestigious universities, showcasing the profound charm of cross-cultural connection and friendship through the universal language of music.

The Stanford Center at Peking University is located in the Langrun Garden. Founded in 2012, it is an educational and research center established by Stanford University at Peking University. It serves as a Stanford outpost for faculty and students to carry out research and educational programs, and is the first physical facility affiliated to an American university built on the campus of a major Chinese university.
