A Symphony of Colors and Reactions: Chemistry Culture Festival Sparks Joy on Campus
May 27, 2026

Peking University, May 27, 2026: Crowds of PKU students gathered on campus for the annual Chemistry Culture Festival hosted by the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering on May 23, immersing themselves in a lively celebration of science, curiosity, and discovery.

With the goal of making science more accessible and engaging, the festival blended education with entertainment through a series of interactive experiments designed for students of all backgrounds, embedding scientific education within a welcoming atmosphere.

The festival featured exhibition booths about various branches of chemistry, offering stamps to students as they visited each one of them. At the Organic Chemistry booth, visitors saw how emulsification is used to create everyday skincare products. At the Physical Chemistry booth, students watched supersaturated solutions instantly crystallize into ice-like structures with just a gentle touch. And the Analytical Chemistry booth dazzled audiences with a spectacular rainbow titration display.

Behind the excitement, however, was the dedication and effort of organizers who worked to translate complex chemical principles into experiences that resonated with everyday life. By combining scientific exploration with a strong sense of community, the Chemistry Culture Festival brought the beauty and fascination of chemistry to a wider audience.

The event reinforced an important message: chemistry is far more than equations and lab reports. It is dynamic, surprising, and deeply woven into the fabric of our daily lives.
