Peking University, Oct.30: Professor Gao Song, academician and vice president of Peking University, received this year’s prize of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation for Scientific and Technological Progress.
The awards ceremony was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Oct 30th. Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice Premier of State Council, sent a congratulatory message to the ceremony. Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Chen Changzhi and CPPCC National Committee Vice-Chairman, Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang attended the event.
The Ho Leung Ho Lee (HLHL) Foundation, set up by Hong Kong industrialists in 1994, is the biggest and most influential non-governmental domestic foundation awarding for scientific and technological achievements. Annual prizewinners are chosen firstly by the review panel of experts, then the selection committee and finally decided through a secret ballot.
With a total of 45 scientists awarded, Peking University by now has the most winners of HLHL Awards among universities nationwide.
