Vice Governor of Shanxi Province Yu Yingjie visits Peking University

Peking University, 7 September, 2021: On 30 August, Yu Yingjie, vice governor of Shanxi province visited Peking University (PKU). Qiu Shuiping, chair of Peking University Council, Zhang Pingwen, vice president of PKU, and Dong Zhiyong, assistant to the president and dean of general affairs of PKU, met with the delegation at Lin Hu Xuan.

Qiu fully acknowledged the results of comprehensive strategic cooperation between PKU and Shanxi, listing the Shanxi-Peking University Science and Technology Innovation Base and the Peking University Shanxi Carbon-based Thin Film Electronics Research Institute as examples of successful school-local cooperation. He hopes that more cooperation can be realized in the future in order to foster greater outcomes.

Yu also expressed his appreciation for PKU’s support for Shanxi province. As Shanxi focuses on accelerating innovation and deepening reform, the province will continue to promote comprehensive cooperation with PKU. 

Before the meeting, Yu Yingjie and the delegation visited the Stem Cell Research Center, Carbon Based Electronics Research Center, and School of Material Science and Engineering, where they learnt about the progress and future prospects of research projects. They also viewed an exhibition in the Museum of Peking University History.

On 31 August, Yu and the delegation then travelled to Majuqiao Town, Tongzhou District to visit the Peking University-Shanxi Science and Technology Innovation Base.
