Peking University, September 19, 2021: Recently, Beijing Municipal Education Commission has released the list of winners for the 17th Beijing Teaching Achievement Award of Higher Education. Chen Bin from the School of Earth and Space Sciences;Tang Shaoqiang from the College of Engineering; Ning Qi from School of Foreign Languages; He Zhonghui from Deparment of Physical Education and Feng Yi from Peking University People’s Hospital have been awarded the 17th Beijing Teaching Achievement Award of Higher Education. Liu Zhewei from the Law School and Lu Junlin from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science won the 5th Beijing Young Teacher Achievement Award of Higher Education.
Chen Bin, PKU School of Earth and Space Sciences
Professor Chen Bin’s research focuses on virtual geographic environments and spatial information distributed computation. Professor Chen began his teaching career at Peking University in 2004, and has subsequently presided over and participated in a number of national key research programs.
Tang Shaoqiang, PKU College of Engineering
Professor Tang Shaoqiang is from the College of Engineering. He offers many English-taught courses and excels at establishing a lively classroom environment. He gives guidance to graduates and undergraduates on their scientific research trainings, and is well-liked by all his students.
Ning Qi, PKU School of Foreign Languages
Professor Ning Qi is the dean of the School of Foreign Languages. She teaches Russian grammar, Russian linguistics and cross-cultural communication. She actively promotes major reform in foreign languages, aiming to achieve the long-term development and progress of foreign language disciplines.
He Zhonghui, PKU Department of Physical Education
Professor He Zhonghui, from the Department of Physical Education at Peking University, is a visiting scholar of University of Michigan and Lund University and secretary general of Peking University’s Healthy Campus Working Group.She promotes physical education and the development of a healthy campus.
Feng Y, Peking University People’s Hospital
Professor Feng Yi is from Peking University People’s Hospital and is presently the director of the anesthesiology department. She attaches high importance to the value of scientific research and has trained more than 100 resident doctors as well as a number of outstanding teachers.
Liu Zhewei, PKU Law School
Associate Professor Liu Zhewei is from the Law School. He specializes in Civil Procedure Law, Judicial System, Settlement of Disputes, and explores the reform of the examination system, attempting to shift students' learning goals from memorization to fostering the ability to understand and apply law, hence cultivating legal sense.
Lu Junlin, School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science
Lu Junlin is an Associate Research Fellow from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, and has served as the Deputy Director of Institute of Computer Architecture since 2011. His research interests include on computer architecture, heterogeneous system-on-chip, memory hierarchy, on-chip communication and software/hardware co-design.
The two awards are established to recognize teachers who have not only acheived high academic achievements but also possess outstanding teaching ability. Till date, Peking University has 17 national distinguished teachers recipients as well as 103 Beijing distinguished teacher recipients. These teachers have each made significant contribution to improving undergraduate teaching quality.
