Peking University, October 8, 2021: On 24 to 25 September, 2021, the 7th International Forum on Medication Safety was held online. The forum was sponsored by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association (CPA) and co-hosted by the CPA Hospital Pharmacy Committee and the Department of Pharmacy at Peking University Third Hospital.
The forum organized 17 academic reports, with more than 2600 delegates in attendance. Professor Zhai Suodi of PKU Third Hospital gave his report titled “Methodology and Case Studies of Postmarketing Surveillance”, and other experts shared their new research as well.
Both lecturers specializing in pharmacy at home and abroad were invited, including Rita Jew, vice president of Operations at Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), pharmacist Lin Jinghui from Singapore General Hospital, and Dr. Chen Li-Chia and Dr. Penny Lewis from the University of Manchester. The experts thoroughly discussed relevant research and experience regarding medication error, pharmacovigilance, and postmarketing surveillance, and explored pertinent issues concerning drug safety.
The forum has attracted broad attention from pharmacists at home, contributing to academic communication and medicine safety in China.
