Peking University wins multiple awards in the First National Textbook Award

Peking University, October 19, 2021: The National Textbook Committee issued the award list of the first national textbook award, where Peking University won the National Excellent Textbook Award for 30 teaching materials, including 26 for higher education, 2 for vocational education and continuing education, and 2 for basic education. In higher education textbooks, 21 items were edited by PKU teachers, and 5 were compiled by PKU teachers as first chief experts. In addition, PKU Dean’s Office was named “Advanced Group” for its work in developing teaching materials. Prof. Gu Hailiang from the School of Marxism and Prof. Wang Puqu from the School of Government were also recognized as “Advanced Individuals”.
The National Textbook Award is the highest award for teaching materials and is the first of its kind since 1949. Sponsored by the National Textbook Committee, it is awarded once every four years. This year, the awards were given to 999 textbooks, 99 “Advanced Groups” and 200 “Advanced Individuals”.
