PKU International Cultural Festival 2021: Seeing is Believing!
Dec 08, 2021
Peking University, Decemebr 8, 2021: Every year, PKU hosts the International Cultural Festival (ICF) to
celebrate the diversity in our campus as well as foster intercultural
exchange among our students. This year's ICF theme is Seeing is
Believing – China and the World.
Seeing China and the world
We all know that a picture paints a thousand words, so what better way
to see China and the world than with pictures? Kick start your December
with a photography exhibition titled "Seeing China and the world through
your lens" at the New Sun Student Center, held from December 1st (Wed).
Let's take a look at some of the pictures!
This exhibition showcases the deep bonds between China and the world.
While it may be tough to travel around the world now, let us bring the
world to you with this exhibition! Mark it on your calendars and take a
short stroll New Sun Student Center after classes!
Of course, apart from the photography exhibition, we have also conducted various activities in conjunction with this year's ICF.
PKU-UChicago Youth Impact Forum
PKU and University of Chicago held the Youth Impact Forum on 9th and
10th October. College life isn't all about studying and student
associations are a crucial aspect of college life that makes our four
years memorable. With this in mind, communication between the student
associations of both universities is an important part of international
exchange. The forum consisted of four sub-forums: international
relations, world finance, culture and arts, and social welfare. Student
representatives from the relevant associations engaged in open and
lively discussions.

The Chinese Language Speech Contest
The Chinese Language Speech Contest for International Students 2021,
part of Peking University International Culture Festival 2021, was held
in October.
Students spoke on a wide variety of topics, from Chinese identity and
cultural differences in family values to the similarities between
Chinese and western cuisine, then on to their studies against the
backdrop of global pandemic and more. Students also shared what inspired
them to learn Chinese and choose Peking University.
