PKUers awarded the 11th China Youth Entrepreneurship Award

Peking University, January 3, 2021: On the afternoon of 16 December, the 11th China Youth Entrepreneurship Awards were held in Hefei, Anhui Province. Wang Shaodi, a former undergraduate who studied at Peking University’s School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science and Li Wusong, a former doctoral student from Peking University’s College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, were awarded the China Youth Entrepreneurship award while doctoral student Chen Fangping from Peking University’s School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science was awarded the China Youth Entrepreneurship Award – Special Technological Innovation Award.

The China Youth Entrepreneurship Awards encourage young people to innovate and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Wang Shaodi and Li Wusong were two out of 20 awardees recognised with the China Youth Entrepreneurship Award and Chen Fangping was one of five awardees recognised with the China Youth Entrepreneurship Award – Special Technological Innovation Award.

Wang Shaodi

Awardee: Wang Shaodi
Award: China Youth Entrepreneurship Award
Resume: Wang Shaodi entered Peking University in 2007 and earned his bachelor’s at the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science before earning his PhD in Electronic Engineering in UCLA. He has published close to 30 research papers in international journals and conference proceedings, applied for over 60 patents domestically and internationally, with more than 20 authorised patents. In October 2017, he founded WITIN Tech, with the vision to make artificial intelligence everywhere and to develop computing-in-memory technology to solve memory and calculation problems in artificial intelligence. Wang is CEO of the company and they have managed to achieve breakthroughs in many key fields.

 
Li Wusong

Awardee: Li Wusong
Award: China Youth Entrepreneurship Award
Resume: Li Wusong obtained a PhD from Peking University’s College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, and started the industrialisation of dendrimers in China. Li has applied for 42 patents, with 14 authorised. He has published 15 dissertations in domestic and internationally known journals, and is involved in more than 10 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects. In 2011, Li founded Weihai CY Dendrimer Technology Co., Ltd., with multiple partnerships with domestic and international experts. The company hopes to extend the use of dendronized polymers to fields of strategic cooperation for China, like renewable energy.
 

Chen Fangping

Awardee: Chen Fangping
Award: China Youth Entrepreneurship Award – Special Technological Innovation Award
Resume: Chen Fangping entered Peking University’s School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science as a doctoral student in 2017. He is also the CEO of I-KINGTEC Co., Ltd, which has been developing electrical engineering and computing hardware, visual computing and sensory systems for close to 10 years.  Chen has 110 applied and authorised national patents, and his research findings have been published in top international  journals like IEEE ICRA 2021, IEEE ISMAR.
