[Beijing 2022 Olympics] Peking University’s International Teachers watch Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics opening ceremony

Peking University, February 6, 2022: Outside the East Gate of Peking University (PKU), our international teachers pose for a photo, their glee and excitement apparent. Beijing Winter Olympics, here we come!

 

The National Stadium sparkled in the night, filled with Chinese New Year vibes and the Olympic spirit. In the stadium, our international teachers watch the Olympics opening ceremony excitedly, applauding, laughing and cheering with the crowd. In chorus, the entire stadium sang “Together for a Shared Future”, harbouring hopes for a better future.

 
 
 
 





Japan’s most influential paper, The Asahi Shimbun included an excerpt on the attendance of Professor Baba Kimihiko, from PKU’s School of Foreign Languages, in their article on the Beijing Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

 

The translation of the above yellow-circled part is as follows: Professor Baba Kimihiko, a Japanese teacher from PKU’s School of Foreign Languages (63 years old) was one of the guests in attendance. As an international teacher invited to the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics, he had this to say, “The crowd was overjoyed seeing the colours, music and fireworks!“
