Visit the Forbidden City
Located in Beijing, the Forbidden City is one of the largest imperial palaces in the world and hosts the largest museum in China showcasing architecture, exquisite collections, and the rich history and culture of the palace.
This summer, we may be able to step inside the Forbidden City’s wondrous walls and discover the stories behind its transformation, watch original plays, explore the art of relic restoration, and get in touch with the heart of China’s history!
Explore Saihanba National Forest Park
Saihanba National Forest Park is a former royal hunting field located in Hebei Province. Once nothing more than a wasteland, it is now a "green sea on earth", home to lush forests and beautiful ecological civilization.
In 1962, an artificial forest farm was set up in the region, forming the largest artificial forest in China and Asia. Since 1992, Peking University has been carrying out long-term research in this area to address various issues that have arisen in the forest. At the end of 2020, the Saihanba Station of Peking University Observatory System for Ecology and the Environment (PKU-OSEE) became the first National Observatory of Peking University!
This summer, look forward to exploring the secrets of the Saihanba wilderness, learning about the issues of science and ecology, and understanding China's developmental concept of "clear waters and green mountains are as valuable as gold and silver mountains"!
