Peking University, May 16, 2022: On April 26, 2022, the signing ceremony of the donation of Peking University-Xiaomi Innovation Public Welfare Fund was held at Xiaomi Science and Technology Park in Beijing. The fund aimed to promote cutting-edge research, foster technological innovation, and cultivate talents in integrated circuit, psychology, and cognition at Peking University.


Qiu Shuiping, chair of Peking University Council and president of Peking University Education Foundation (PKUEF), highly appreciated the vigorous development of Xiaomi since its establishment 12 years ago and acknowledged the support from Xiaomi Corporation and Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation on behalf of Peking University. He noted that the donation of Peking University-Xiaomi Innovation Public Welfare Fund demonstrated the confidence of both sides in the future and will play an important role in promoting scientific research and talent cultivation in relevant disciplines at Peking University.


Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Corporation, congratulated Peking University on its 124th anniversary and appreciated the excellence of over 200 PKU-graduated Xiaomi employees. He pointed out that Xiaomi had always prioritized technological development and the donation of Peking University-Xiaomi Innovation Public Welfare Fund marked a milestone in the cooperation between the two parties.


At the ceremony, Ma Lan, secretary-general of Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation, and Li Yuning, secretary-general of PKUEF, signed the donation agreement. Wang Bo, vice president of Peking University and vice president of PKUEF, presented the “Peking University Outstanding Contribution Award” to Xiaomi Public Welfare Foundation.
