PKU Hospital of Stomatology wins silver prize at Inventions Geneva

Peking University, May 22, 2023: Recently, at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Prof. Yuan Fusong, the deputy director of Peking University Hospital of Stomatology's digital center, achieved recognition by winning a silver prize. The prestigious event showcased more than 1,000 groundbreaking inventions from over 40 countries and regions.
Prof. Yuan's innovative contribution was a minimally invasive surgical robot system that utilizes femtosecond laser technology. This cutting-edge system revolutionizes traditional manual cutting techniques by employing a robot-controlled femtosecond laser, enabling automatic and precise removal of teeth, bone tissue, and soft tissue within the oral cavity. These advancements greatly enhance the efficacy and efficiency of minimally invasive procedures.
Since its establishment in 1973, the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva has been the preeminent global platform exclusively dedicated to showcasing inventions. Distinguished participants include industrial and commercial companies, universities, inventors, researchers, associations, private and state organizations, and institutions. This event serves as a significant catalyst for presenting groundbreaking inventions, research outcomes, and new products.
