Peking University, January 21, 2025: The main structure of Sanya Branch of Peking University Hospital of Stomatology was capped as scheduled recently, marking a key milestone since the official launch of the construction project in July 2023 and providing a solid foundation for the branch hospital’s inauguration and trial operation in December 2025.

Sanya Branch of Peking University Hospital of Stomatology was slated for construction as part of the third batch of national and regional medical centers approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), standing out as China’s only stomatology-focused project among them. Located in Haitang District, Sanya City, Hainan Province, the hospital covers a land area of 104.25 mu (about 6.95 hectares), with a building area of 86,700 square meters. It has a capacity of 100 designated beds and 150 dental chairs. 

Once inaugurated, the hospital is bound to uphold high-quality stomatological services and oral healthcare for residents in Sanya City and the broader Hainan Province, and guarantee the access to stomatological services in Hainan, an international free trade port and tourist destination, in line with national strategies.
