Peking University, August 5, 2025: On July 30, Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) led a delegation to the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD) at Peking University, underscoring the Institute’s important role in China’s foreign policy as well as signaling stronger cooperation ahead.
Established in 2016 under the direct initiation from Chinese President Xi Jinping, ISSCAD has been a prominent platform for training government officials geared toward developing countries, and has reached an important milestone of its 10th anniversary.
Expressing gratitude for CIDCA’a ongoing support, Chair of PKU Council He Guangcai emphasized the importance of aligning the Institute’s mission with China’s national strategies regarding education, diplomacy and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Chen Xiaodong praised the progress of ISSCAD since its establishment, noting its role in fostering global development consensus and human resource cooperation among developing countries. He recognized the Institute as a model for China’s foreign aid in education and talent development and reaffirmed CIDCA’s commitment to transforming ISSCAD into a high-level platform for talent cultivation, research, and international exchange.
Also attending the visit were relevant officials from CIDCA and faculty members from PKU, including Justin Yifu Lin, Honorary Dean of ISSCAD, and Huang Yiping, Dean of ISSCAD.
This visit underscored continued collaboration between CIDCA and Peking University in advancing China’s diplomacy.
