Peking University, September 26, 2025: Over 30 science and technology management personnel from 18 European countries and organizations visited Peking University (PKU) on the afternoon of September 14, marking a key moment of the Beijing agenda of the third “China-EU Science and Technology Management Personnel Exchange Program.”

PKU faculty, including Zhang Cunqun, Deputy Director of the Office of Scientific Research, and Chen Liangyi, Professor from the College of Future Technology, warmly welcomed the delegation. They provided the delegation with an overview of PKU’s academic affairs while highlighting prominent examples of cooperation between PKU and European institutions, such as the French National Center for Scientific Research and the Max Planck Society.
The delegation toured cutting-edge facilities, including the metabolomics platform and the innovative miniaturized two-photon microscope, observing real-time two-photon imaging in freely behaving animals. They expressed strong interest in the research, held in-depth discussions with scientists, and praised the pioneering work. Members indicated their intent to facilitate more substantive cooperation in biomedical imaging.

As the visit extended to the BICMR(Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research), Director Tian Gang along with faculty welcomed the delegation and elaborated on BICMR’s structure, operations, and exchanges with European counterparts. In the traditional courtyard setting, delegates interacted warmly with faculty and students, speaking highly of the Center’s accomplishments and expressing desire for more substantive future collaborations.

This visit served to deepen European institutions’ understanding of PKU’s scientific capabilities, opening promising prospects for enhanced China-EU cooperation. The delegation thanked PKU for the hospitality and looked forward to strengthened collaboration in the future.
