This year's championship boasts new additions to the exhibition races, namely, mixed team relay (road), mixed team relay (mountain biking) and track ring racing. To promote cultural exchange and show hospitality, the organizing committee has arranged activities including one-day Beijing tours and visits to the Chongli Ice and Snow Museum and traditional Chinese culture workshops.

The ceremony also unveiled the official medals and the mascot "Chong Chong". This year marks the first time where all contestants and delegation officials will receive commemorative medals.

Yang Huiying, captain of the women's team, mentioned that although she faced academic pressure, her enthusiasm for the sport motivated her to push through. She is a graduate student in stomatology and competed in the ITU Triathlon World Championship last year.

"Being able to take part in the championships at home is an honor and a precious experience that I will hold close to heart."

This year marks the first time this global cycling championship is held in China, offering a window into the country's progress in collegiate sports education and a chance to see the sport venues in Zhangjiakou which have hosted events during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
