Peking University, June 13, 2026: Professor Liu Jian of Peking University’s College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering (CCME) has been elected as Member at Large of the board of the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science (IAQMS). Liu was previously elected to the IAQMS as a member in 2025, and his new position as a board member was announced at the Academy's annual meeting held in Berkeley, US, from May 30 to 31, 2026.

Liu is a professor of theoretical chemistry and also a research fellow at the Center for Computational Science & Engineering. His election to the board of IAQMS is a testament to his outstanding contributions to the field of quantum molecular science.
Founded in 1967, the IAQMS is one of the world's leading academic organisations in quantum molecular science. The IAQMS board serves as the Academy's highest governing body and is responsible for its major affairs and strategic development.
Membership in the IAQMS is awarded to scientists who have made outstanding contributions to quantum molecular science. Throughout its history, eleven members of the Academy have received Nobel Prizes, and the Academy currently has 138 elected members worldwide.
