Peking University, Sept. 25, 2015: Jiao Ning, professor of the State Key Laboratory of Natural and Biomimetic Drugs, School of Pharmaceutical Science at Peking University, has been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).
Founded in 1841, The Royal Society of Chemistry is the oldest chemical society in the world and one of the most influential learned societies and professional bodies. The designation FRSC is given to a group of elected Fellows of the society who have made major contributions to chemistry and other interface disciplines such as biological chemistry.
Professor Jiao Ning conducts research on organic chemistry synthetic methodology, aiming to explore economic, efficient and eco-friendly ways to synthesize chemical medicine. After graduating from Max Planck Institute, Jiao came to Peking University in 2007 and led his research group to make innovative contributions in Oxygenation Reactions and Nitrogenation Reactions, paving new ways for synthesizing chemical medicine.
Jiao has authored more than 110 publications in leading international journals, and is now on the editorial board of Scientific Reports、Heterocyclic Communication、Natural Product against Cancerand Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal. He is also a member of the Public Security Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society.
