Peking University, October 25, 2015: On October 15, 2015, over 4000 global urology experts and scholars attended the 35th Congress of the Societe Internationale d'Urologie (SIU) in Australia.
Professor Guo Ying-Lu, the honorary president of Peking University First Hospital and the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, won the Distinguished Career Award for his contribution and efforts to the field of urology.

The session (SIU 2015, 35th Congress of the Societe Internationale d'Urologie) was held in Melbourne, Australia on October 15-18. SIU was founded in 1907 and holds meeting focusing on urology, health and science as well as technology. Each meeting attracts leading urologist around the world to participate in the academic discussion.
As one of the national key disciplines in Peking University, First Hospital was invited to attend the annual meeting of the General Assembly. This year, professor GuoYing-Lu and three urologists from other countries received the Lifetime Achievement Award together.
This was the international recognition of Chinese medical workers. During the meeting, On behalf of Guo, Xie Li-Ping, professor of the Institute of Urology, Chinese Medical Association and Li Xue-Song, associate professor of Peking University presented Guo’s book “Transurethral Columnar Balloon Dilation of Prostate” to SIU during the meeting.

Guo Ying-Lu is the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, honorary president of Peking University First Hospital, professor, chief physician, doctoral and post-doctoral tutor, dean of Peking University Urology Training Institute, director of Peking University Andrology Disease Control Center, chairman of the Institute of Urology, Chinese Medical Association and honorary director of the Institute of Urology, Peking University.
Guo is devoted to teaching, research and medical work at the Department of Urology. Prevention and treatment of urolithiasis, diagnosis of urinary cancer and endourology technology are his important research projects.
He is the initiator in promoting the development of kidney transplantation, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy and endourology. He also takes the lead in urological surgery and andrology.
In recent years, Professor Guo is dedicated to the communication of national urological surgery engineering and global Chinese workers program, promoting the cultivation and development of urology talents.
