CEEC diplomats visit Peking University

Peking University, June 10, 2021: On May 29, a delegation of embassy diplomats from Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) visited Peking University. The China Education Tour of CEEC Diplomats is a series of activities organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) to strengthen the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries in terms of education. Wang Bo, vice president of Peking University, and representatives from PKU Office of International Relations, met with the delegation.



Wang extended warm welcome to the delegation. He reviewed the previous engagement between PKU and universities in CEEC. Wang said Peking University attaches great importance to the exchanges with universities in CEEC. He hopes there will be more collaboration with CEEC in culture, people-to-people exchanges and scientific research.

Shen Xuesong, deputy secretary-general of CEAIE, emphasized the necessity of mutual learning in respect of education between China and CEEC. Meanwhile, the embassy diplomats from CEEC talked about the status quo and future prospects of educational cooperation between China and their home countries. Faculty members from Peking University also gave an introduction to some of the flagship international projects, such as the establishment of Sino-Russian Mathematics Center, research progress on CEEC, and the “Future Leaders” Program.

After the meeting, the delegation visited Yenching Academy of Peking University and had a productive discussion with teachers and students.
