Other PKU institutes, such as the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development and the Institute of Area Studies, play a key role in the exchanges between China and Africa. Wang emphasized that PKU welcomes Somali scholars and students, hoping to further promote exchanges with Somali universities through cooperative platforms at Peking University.

Kullane, who has been devoted to promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields, said both sides need to strengthen mutual understanding. He added that the embassy and himself are willing to build a bridge of communication, and looked forward to a pragmatic collaboration with Peking University in various fields under the framework of South-South cooperation, including artificial intelligence, information technology, health science, engineering, and humanities.

Following the meeting, Kullane visited the School of Foreign Languages, where he delivered a speech titled “Relations between China and Somalia” to faculty members and students from the Department of Arabic Studies.
