Peking University, September 13, 2021: The Second International Joint Conference on Theoretical Computer Science (IJTCS 2021) was held interactively online and offline on August 16-19, 2021, co-hosted by Peking University, the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM), the China Computer Federation (CCF) and the China Council of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). With 10 sub-forums and 5 special forums, the conference provided a feast of theoretical computer science and attracted totally over 10000 watchers online.
The opening ceremony took place at Jingyuan Courtyard No. 5 in Peking University. Professor Deng Xiaotie warmly welcomed the attendants and raised higher expectation towards the conference to promote the development and academic communication of TCS. Many internationally known experts and scholars expressed their best wishes for IJTCS 2021 through videos.

Professors Manuel Blum and Lenore Blum, winners of the Turing Award and chair professors at Carnegie Mellon University, delivered the invited lecture about “Insights from the Conscious Turing Machine(CTM)”.

The conference specially featured five special forums: Woman in EconCS, Young PhD Forum, Young Faculty in TCS at CFCS, Game Theory in Blockchain and EconCS, showing the female and young power in TCS research as well as the collision and inspiration of thoughts between industry and academia in blockchain and EconCS.

At the closing ceremony, presidents of sub-forums made summaries and expressed their expectation to hold IJTCS as flagship conference of TCS on long term basis. Professor Deng Xiaotie addressed the closing remark, congratulating the success of the conference and appreciating the organizing committee, invited speakers and volunteers. Particularly, he spoke highly of many recently returned outstanding young faculties at CFCS, and expressed his confidence in the prosperous development of TCS.
In the future, IJTCS will continuously provide a high-level international academic platform for TCS researchers, deepen TCS industry-academia collaboration and contribute to the development of TCS.
