Ambassador of Iraq to China Shorsh Said visits Peking University

Peking University, Decemeber 13, 2021:
Shorsh Said, ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to China visited Peking
University along with his delegation on December 4. PKU President Hao
Ping and Vice President Wang Bo met with the visitors at Lin Hu Xuan.

Shorsh Said and his delegation were greeted warmly by President Hao
Ping. During their meeting, President Hao Ping stated that PKU was one
of the first universities to offer the Arabic major. Over the last
half-century, PKU has cultivated many Arabic talents in various fields
and it is certain that in the future, both universities will work more
closely in areas such as higher education and cultural exchange.
Shorsh Said expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and noted
the profound history of exchanges between China and Iraq. He spoke
highly of China’s socio-economic development and invited Peking
University to exchange outstanding academic resources with Baghdad to
elevate and boost higher education exchanges between Iraq and China.

Following the meeting, Shorsh Said and his delegation headed to Wen-shi
Classroom Building to meet with PKU’s undergraduate class of 2020 from
the Department of Arabic Language and Culture.
