Vice President of LSE visits Peking University

Peking University, May 21, 2023: A delegation from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) visited Peking University on May 19, 2023, led by Emma McCoy, vice president of LSE, and Paul Kelly, head of LSE Government Department. During their visit, they had a meeting with Gong Qihuang, president of Peking University (PKU).

Gong extended a warm welcome to McCoy and the delegation on behalf of the teachers and students at Peking University. He highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two institutions and commended their recent progress in joint training programs and student and faculty exchanges.
Recognizing the value of face-to-face communication in fostering mutual understanding and consensus, Gong proposed that future areas of collaboration could focus on fields such as environment, energy, medicine, and artificial intelligence.

Expressing her gratitude to Peking University, McCoy emphasized the shared commitment to education that serves as the strong foundation for bilateral cooperation between LSE and PKU. She expressed her hope for the realization of a new chapter in strategic cooperation between the two universities.
Prior to the formal meeting, the LSE delegation engaged in discussions with faculty members from Peking University's School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Government, and School of Foreign Languages, exploring topics related to scientific research, curriculum development, and joint curriculum initiatives.
