The delegation visits the University of Qatar
Peking University, February 26, 2024: Ahead of the Chinese New Year, Academician Qiao Jie, executive vice president of Peking University (PKU) and president of Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC), led a delegation to the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman.
During their stay, the delegation visited the University of Qatar and affiliated medical institutions, the Ministry of Higher Education and Technological Innovation of Oman, the Ministry of Health of Oman, the Military Medical City of the Ministry of Defense of Oman, Sultan Qaboos University of Oman and its hospitals.
Amid the trip, the delegation also met with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Qatar, Cao Xiaolin, and the Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Li Lingbing.
The delegation visits the Ministry of Health of Oman
The delegation, together with Li Lingbing, and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to China, Nasser Bousaidi, visited the Ministry of Health of Oman. They met with the Deputy Minister of Health of Oman, Said Harib Al Lamki. Both sides had lively exchanges and discussions on issues such as cooperation in healthcare.

The PKU-Sultan Qaboos University Exchange Forum was jointly held during the PKU delegation's visit to the University. The audience came from various institutions including Sultan Qaboos University, the Ministry of Health, and the affiliated hospitals of the Ministry of National Defense of Oman.
The visit represents a continuation of Peking University's “Global Engagement Year” in 2023 and serves to facilitate the University's development of academic disciplines in 2024. Through this visit, PKUHSC has also consolidated and strengthened its friendly relations with top universities and important partners in the field of medicine and health in the Arab region.
Going forward, PKUHSC will carry out the “Eight Common Actions” for China-Arab practical cooperation put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, promote mutual learning and understanding among Chinese and Arab civilizations, and make great contributions to the friendship between China and Arab states. With it, PKUHSC strives to inject vitality into the cooperation in the field of health, create more opportunities and development space, and contribute to the construction of a global community of health for all.
