The team was supervised by Gao Wei from PKU Law School, and coached by Su Kunpeng (a graduate student from Law School of the 2021 cohort), Wang Xiuqi (a graduate student from Law School of the 2022 cohort), and Yan Shiwei (a graduate student from Yuanpei College of the 2019 cohort).
With a solid legal professional foundation and rich experience in moot court, the PKU team stood out after many rounds of competition and won third place. The two debaters Huang Tian (a graduate student from Law School of the 2021 cohort) and Lin Yongxi (an undergraduate from Law School of the 2019 cohort) won the Honorable mention of the Best Individual Oralists.
Vis (East) is the largest, highest level, and most influential competition in the field of international simulated arbitral tribunal debate, and it is also the only student competition sponsored by the United Nations in the world. With about 150 teams participating every year, Vis (East) in Hong Kong has developed into the world’s largest international commercial arbitration Moot court outside the Vis Moot Vienna Competition since 2003.
PKUers’ outstanding performance in the International Moot Court competition added festivities to the 120th anniversary of PKU Law School. Standing at a new historical juncture, PKU Law School will continue to take it as its responsibility to cultivate foreign-related legal talents.
