Pakistani Ambassador to China visits Peking University

Peking University, March 27, 2024: Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and his delegation visited Peking University (PKU) recently. PKU President Gong Qihuang and Vice Council Chair Gu Tao met with the guests at Linhuxuan.

Gong Qihuang warmly welcomed Hashmi's first visit to Peking University. He pointed out that China has always maintained stable and friendly relations with Pakistan. This relationship has been fully reflected in many fields, paving the way for mutual understanding between both countries.
On behalf of PKU, Gong expressed sincere gratitude to the Pakistani Embassy in China for its long-term involvement in developing the University's Pakistan Research Center and Urdu Language major. He looked forward to further expanding the scope of cooperation between universities of both countries with the continued support of Hashmi and the Embassy.
Hashmi stressed that Pakistan values its friendship with China and participation in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, an important project of the Belt and Road Initiative. Applauding the achievements of the PKU Pakistan Research Center, the ambassador expressed hope that platforms like the Center will further promote personnel exchanges between the two countries.
