NUS delegation visits PKU and inks MOU to establish PKU-NUS Applied Sciences Center

Peking University, March 8, 2025: A delegation from National University of Singapore led by NUS President Tan Eng Chye visited Peking University on February 24, 2025, and was received by PKU President Gong Qihuang and Vice President Piao Shilong.
Professor Gong reviewed the collaboration between the two universities over these years, and recent advancements of academic exchanges. He emphasized the expectation of a concerted effort in cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields, such as AI, new materials and advanced manufacturing, life sciences and health, climate change and sustainable development.
President Tan provided an overview of NUS and its collaboration with Chinese institutions, asserting that the synergy between the two universities will propel the development of higher education in Singapore, China, and other parts of the world.
The two universities inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on establishing PKU-NUS Applied Sciences Center, witnessed by their presidents, after which the delegation visited the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Peking University.
