Peking University, November 18, 2025: Ibrahim Abubakar, Vice Provost of University College London (UCL), led a delegation to Peking University (PKU) on November 11 as part of an effort to explore deeper cooperation in frontier disciplines.
Jiang Guohua, Vice Chair of PKU Council, extended a warm welcome to Mr. Abubakar and his delegation, and provided an overview of Peking University's latest research achievements. He emphasized that recently reached agreements between the two universities would inject new momentum into their enduring cooperation in fields including public health, medical research, smart technologies, etc.

In response, Mr. Abubakar expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He stated that UCL has always valued its partnership with PKU, pointing to the fruits of collaboration in neuroscience, global health, psychological and cognitive sciences, and life sciences, amongst others.
Mr. Abubakar then expressed UCL’s readiness to expand cooperation with PKU, particularly in frontier disciplines such as public health, infectious disease prevention and control, and "AI-empowered health."
Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL is consistently ranked one of Britain’s top research universities. Recently, both universities contributed matching funds to the UCL-Peking University Strategic Partner Funds 2025-26 to advance collaborative education and research initiatives.
