Peking University, Dec 8, 2025: Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Pakistan’s Economic Policy & Business Development Think Tank (EPBD), led a delegation to Peking University (PKU) on December 2, eyeing broader China-Pakistan cooperation.

The delegation was warmly received by Jiang Guohua, Vice Chair of the PKU Council. Jiang expressed PKU’s readiness to deepen cooperation with institutions like EPBD, focusing on areas such as the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, regional issues and global governance, so as to provide valuable references for the decision-making of both nations.

In response, Kakar thanked PKU for its hospitality. He stated Pakistan's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the University in people-to-people exchanges, think tank collaboration, student training, area studies, etc., as part of efforts to tackle common challenges and contribute to regional stability.

Following the meeting, Kakar took part in an in-depth discussion with students and faculty of the Center for Pakistan Studies and learned about the achievements of PKU in the South Asian area studies and education.

This visit signaled a renewed Pakistan–China commitment to expanding their all-weather strategic partnership.
