Peking University, December 11, 2025: Alex Mihailidis, Associate Vice President for International Partners at the University of Toronto, led a delegation to Peking University (PKU) on December 5, in an effort to broaden people-to-people exchanges and research cooperation.
Dong Zhiyong, Vice President of PKU, warmly welcomed the delegation at Linhuxuan. He highlighted that the two universities have achieved substantial progress in student training and academic exchange since they signed a cooperation agreement in 1989.
He then expressed expectation that the renewal of the student exchange agreement would further strengthen their existing partnership and enable them to explore new avenues of collaboration in areas such as medicine, economics, and innovation and entrepreneurship education.
In response, Alex Mihailidis thanked Peking University for its warm hospitality and shared updates on the University of Toronto’s recent initiatives in international engagement. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to expanding student mobility, enhancing support services for visiting students, and deepening cooperation in frontier fields including bioengineering, healthy aging, and digital health.
This meeting signaled a renewed commitment to expanding cooperation by the two institutions and the healthy development of China-Canada exchanges.
