Apr 21, 2026
Peking University, April 21, 2026: Peking University (PKU) welcomed a delegation of Vietnamese youths on April 17 for a trip retracing China-Vietnam bonds through the shared history of socialist revolutions that set the stage for today's prosperity.

The delegation was received at Linhuxuan by Chair of PKU Council He Guangcai, who pointed out in his welcoming remarks that President Xi Jinping had placed great emphasis and sincere hope on cultural exchanges between Chinese and Vietnamese youths. "Young people are a vital force driving social development and progress, and are also the successors who will carry forward the causes of the two parties and the two countries," He Guangcai quoted President Xi Jinping as saying at a meeting with youth representatives from the two countries on April 15.

Reflecting on PKU's critical role in China's socialist revolutions, He Guangcai reaffirmed the university's readiness to leverage its rich cultural and academic resources to deepen the bond between the two countries' youths and forge a path of win-win cooperation toward shared prosperity.

Nguyễn Thái An, Member of the Standing Committee of Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union and leader of the delegation, echoed this warm sentiment by expressing his great expectations for stronger educational cooperation between China and Vietnam, which would further strengthen the bilateral ties.

After the reception, the delegation attended a symposium at Guanghua School of Management, where outstanding young speakers from both countries shared their ideas and experiences regarding technological innovation, volunteerism, etc., creating an apt environment for mutual learning.

In his opening remarks, Vice Chair of PKU Council Jiang Guohua renewed the earnest hope put on young people by leaders of both countries. He encouraged the youths to retrace their shared history, learn from each other, and contribute to China-Vietnam friendship.

In the age of AI, the value of media hinges on whether it can faithfully report real stories about real people, according to her. "Media is supposed to be a bridge that connects people and the world, and for that to work, media workers need to have a clear understanding of society and a keen sense of values."

Following the symposium, the delegation took a tour of the PKU campus along with their Chinese counterparts, concluding the event with joyful sightseeing.
